Earth One… (18)

I have promised one new post per day for as long as I can go. So far today makes that 18 in a row. I don’t intended to stop anytime soon. But doing so does require me to play around with posts I normally would upload.

Up, up and away… (5)

Yesterday I spoke about Ben Affleck leaving the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman from the DCEU franchise. While he played the role three times in Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad and Justice League, he has now departed the role making way for a younger Dark Knight to take over. And while this hasn’t officially been confirmed, Ben Affleck did retweet something which all but confirmed it.

Ben Affleck (4)

When Ben Affleck was cast at Bruce Wayne/Batman way back in 2013, I was a little confused as to the choice of casting an older Batman. Don’t get me wrong, I always picture Batman in his late 30s to early 40s, but Ben Affleck was 41 at the time of his casting announcement, and he looked to be on his late 40s. My other issue with the casting was, you immediately age Batman up way above Superman. Not only that, but how long can Ben Affleck hold onto that physique? I mean you want him to play Batman across multiple from many number of years?

Batman Beyond (3)

Lately there has been a lot of talk about a possible Batman Beyond animated movie in the works at Warner Brothers. Not sure if these are rumours, or actual fact, and frankly I don’t care. Just having Batman Beyond in the news brings a smile to my face.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t like Batman as much as people think. While Bruce Wayne/Batman is a great character handled with perfection in the DC Animated Universe, in comics and movies…I just can’t find a Batman I like. Except Hush, that run of comics was amazing.
