Blog Update 002
More on that picture later…but now onto more pressing issues on my mind 🙂
It has been a busy July so far. I’ve seen a few films and been catching up on a lot of gaming. Plus, I have also been working away at my first James Bond review, Dr. No. As I mentioned in my James Bond blog a few weeks back, each Bond review would also have an accompanying ‘ultimate’ list which would allow me to compare all the Bond actors and films across the years.
What I didn’t realise though, was that the Bond List would expand. What was originally 7 different lists, has now grown to 10. I’ll list them below with a brief explanation of what they mean.
Needless to say, I’ve made sure to watch Dr. No at least 5 times over the month of July. I have taken in Audio Commentaries, behind the scenes bonus material, the film itself a few times and then lastly watched it all over again to get the list completed. You could call me crazy, but I like to think of myself as highly dedicated to my lists.
Either way, I am hoping it is really worth it, or else I’d have spent a month on nothing. No wait I kid, James Bond is not nothing.
Anyway, the updated James Bond movie list is below. Let me know if anything should be added.
007: whenever the familiar James Bond theme kicks in, whether it be a few seconds or full length, it counts.
You Know My Names: Bond, James Bond count. When it’s said by James Bond himself, and in that order.
Felix Leiter: If James Bond smokes on screen it hits the list.
Nobody Does It Better: Oh this is a fun one. Whenever Bond beds a woman, implied of course.
Shaken, Not Stirred: originally limited to Vodka Martini’s, I decided to open it up to all alcoholic beverages Bond consumes.
Licence To Kill: every kill caused by James Bond himself, directly.
Aston Martin DB5: any mode of transport James Bond travels by.
I Never Joke About My Work: Any gadget Bond uses in the field provided by Q branch.
I Have A Dinner Jacket: If the tuxedo is worn by James Bond, it counts.
For Queen and Country: any and all locations visited by James Bond.
I believe the list works to really make a fair comparison between the 50 plus years and 6 different actors.
Well apart from all that, July so far has also been filled with recent new purchases of toys. That includes a recent addition to my Hot Toys range, with the Man of Steel Superman now sitting beside my Iron Man Mark 7. Plus I’ve also been on the look out for the new movie figures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I have all 4 of them now. On top of all that, I managed to find a LEGO Back to the Future set.
So if you’d like to see any of those reviewed, please let me know in the comments below, or over on twitter where you can find me @truthfulnerd. I don’t bite, so by all means, come say ‘hi’.
For now, I’ll leave you with this picture 🙂
